- This is not a scholarship, but rather a research position that covers tuition and pays a salary and includes work toward a PhD. For the first 3 years of the program, work will be focused on the project, with an emphasis on a mutually agreed area of research that is both applicable to the project and to the PhD goals of the student. The last years of the program would be more focused on completing the research and writing the dissertation.

- I don't know of any restrictions as to where someone comes from. But I am not an authority on this and recommend asking the registrar about any specific concerns you might have. In general applicants from outside Sweden or the EU are welcomed.

- Once the application period closes Maria, who is the project manager and I, an adjunct professor in the department, will review the applications and make a short list. We will then interview, either via the net or at a mutually agreeable location (I travel a lot) those candidates on this list.

- For the most part, student visas are easily obtained once someone is accepted in the PhD program. Again I am not a consular authority or expert and the registrar can give more information on such things.
